1. Overview
FarmVerse ("FarmVerse," "we," "us," or "our") is a peaceful, educational farming game for Android (and, if released, iOS), plus this companion website. This policy explains what information the FarmVerse app and website collect, why, and the choices you have. FarmVerse does not require an account or sign-in, and it does not collect your name, address, or other traditional personal information through the app itself.
2. Data we collect
In the app
- Gameplay data (cash, unlocked crops/countries, plot state, badges, farmer display name, chosen theme and language) — stored locally on your device only, never uploaded to any server.
- Profile photo — if you choose to add one, it's cropped and stored locally on your device only. It is never uploaded anywhere.
- Usage & diagnostic data — collected via Firebase Analytics (Google). See Section 3.
- Advertising data — only if and when FarmVerse displays ads via Google AdMob. See Section 4.
- Local multiplayer data — your chosen farmer display name and small gift amounts, exchanged directly with nearby devices. See Section 5.
On this website
- Email address — if you sign up for launch updates, we store your email address to send you a confirmation and, later, a launch notification.
- Basic web analytics — via Google Tag Manager, to understand aggregate traffic to this site.
3. Analytics (Firebase)
FarmVerse uses Firebase Analytics, a Google service, to understand how the app is used — which screens are visited, which gameplay actions are taken (like harvesting or unlocking a country), and general device/usage information (device model, OS version, app version, country/region, and an app-instance identifier). This data is aggregated and used to improve the game; it is not used to identify you personally.
Firebase Analytics may use an Advertising ID or similar device identifier where available. Google's own use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can review Firebase's data practices at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
If FarmVerse displays ads, they will be served through Google AdMob. AdMob and its partner ad networks may collect an advertising identifier, general device information, approximate location (derived from IP address), and ad interaction data (impressions, clicks) to serve and measure ads, and — where permitted — to personalize them. You can review Google's practices at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Where required by law (for example, users in the EU/EEA/UK, or users identified as children), FarmVerse will request consent or serve only non-personalized ads before showing any ad. You can generally opt out of personalized advertising for your device in your device's ad settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads).
5. Local multiplayer (Nearby)
The Nearby feature uses Bluetooth/WiFi (via Google's Nearby Connections API, part of Google Play Services) to find other FarmVerse players physically close to you. This is fully peer-to-peer — no server or company, including us, ever sees this data. Only your chosen farmer display name and small in-game gift amounts are exchanged directly between the two devices involved, and only while both players have the Nearby screen open.
6. Website & email signup
If you submit your email address through the "Notify Me" form on this website, we store it solely to send you a one-time confirmation and a future launch notification. We do not sell or share your email address with third parties for their own marketing. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also request removal at any time — see Data Deletion.
7. Children's privacy
FarmVerse is designed to be relaxing and appropriate for all ages, including children, and contains no violence or pay-to-win mechanics. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the anonymous, aggregated analytics described in Section 3. If we introduce advertising, we will configure it to treat users appropriately under applicable children's privacy laws (such as COPPA in the United States), including restricting personalized ads for users identified as children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information beyond what's described here, please contact us and we'll address it promptly.
8. Data retention & deletion
Gameplay data and your profile photo live only on your device. You can erase them at any time via Settings → Reset Progress in the app, or by uninstalling the app entirely.
Analytics data collected by Firebase is not tied to your identity and is retained by Google according to Firebase's standard retention settings. Email addresses collected via the website are retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. See our dedicated Data Deletion page for exact steps.
9. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict our use of your personal data (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act). Since FarmVerse collects very little personal data — no accounts, no names, no addresses — most of these rights are already satisfied by simply resetting or uninstalling the app. For anything else (like an email address on our launch list), contact us and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
10. Security
Gameplay data stays on your device, protected by your device's own security. Data we do handle server-side (your email address, if you sign up) is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with reasonable technical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as FarmVerse evolves (for example, when advertising is enabled). We'll update the effective date above when we do. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
